Many people purchase items online – also called making a direct buy – and never have to deal with any problems. However, it’s the one time you least expect it, when it gets the better of you.
With a simple click of a button you can fall victim of a direct buy scam. If you’ve ever purchase items from websites you’re not familiar with, consider yourself warned. Even though these websites may offer great pricing and discounts, they’re not to be trusted.
Online shoppers should always research the websites they purchase from before actually entering their credit card information. Not doing this can result in a stolen identity and ultimately your credit will be ruined.
Shopping on the Internet is convenient, but also dangerous. Once you enter your credit card information, it’s out there for anyone to see. Unfamiliar shopping sites may appear to be within the country, but often times they are operated from another part of the world. The only reason these website exist is to capture your credit card information. You’ll never receive the items you’ve ordered and you’ll have to deal with the frustration of restoring your credit and reputation after it’s been ruined. This can take years.
The Internet gives thieves the opportunity to engage in many different fraudulent activities. Technology is advanced and enables these criminals to take advantage of consumers that are unaware of the dangers. To protect yourself from having direct buy complaints, avoid purchasing from unknown sources on the web. If the deals offered seem too good to be true, they probably are.
